The transmission seems to constantly struggle to know which gear to be in, especially at lower speeds and especially between gears 1 and 2, and stopping and starting from intersections. It does it all the time, but worse when the vehicle is cold/hadn't been driven. I'll depress the gas, nothing happens, and then suddenly it jerks forward. The transmission seems to slip when I come to a stop and then try to accelerate at intersections. I would like this fixed as soon as possible because of safety concerns.Īll problems of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee My window washing feature does not spew fluid onto front windows, however, will spew liquid on rear window. I would like this fixed as soon as possible because of safety concerns. When accelerating, I feel the transmission slipping and the engine makes very noisy and abrupt vibrations. I am experiencing a symptom/condition of a powertrain issue. I am experiencing or have a symptom/condition of a clunk and/or bump felt through the steering wheel under moderate braking or driving over rough roads (19-003-14) part to fix known issue is (ar) 05057539ad shaft, steering column intermediate. Again, according to the symptom/conditions, I am still experiencing the same issue, and would like this fixed as soon as possible because of safety concerns. I see in my service history that my Jeep had this part replaced: 78,423 mi at jt's Chrysler Jeep Dodge fiat. I see that there was a fuel pump relay recall. This complaint in particular has to do with extended crank. Takata recall I just purchased my Jeep back in June and can view the service history. Some bangs happen but the vehicle stays in the same gear as if it just slipped and then caught the same gear again.Īll problems of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee The driving situation is what increases the likelihood of feeling a bad kick or bang. Violent bangs are once or twice per week, but sometimes twice a day. On a twenty-minute drive of mixed highway and city, it may bang 5 to 10 times or more. Before the normal shift, the transmission will slip and bang. It happens most often when accelerating towards a normal shift point slowly. Issues are usually at 5% to 35% throttle. The issue does not happen when giving the vehicle 80% or more throttle. Some feel like bumps in the road, while others feel like violent bangs. These hard clunks happen at 30-45 mph, or at highway speeds of 75-80 mph. Some bad shifts are repetitive with four or five hesitations and pops or bangs of the transmission. In 8th gear you can hold 5% throttle to maintain highway speed, then give 10% more throttle for an uphill and the transmission will stay in 8th gear, but briefly shutter followed by an obvious bang or jerk of the vehicle. Most hard shifts are when holding the throttle steady and the vehicle slowly approaches a shift point. The hard shift sometimes feels like a 5 lbs hammer slamming into the metal frame of the vehicle. Now, at 50k miles, the vehicle shifts hard in all gears, but mostly in 6th, 7th, and 8th. No shifting issues for the first 49,000 miles.
